One-Pot Tomato Orzo made in a Thermomix

This is my independent Thermomix homage to Jamie Oliver and the comforting appeal of tomato orzo. It keeps the spirit of the original inspiration, but the method is written fresh for TM6 and TM7 cooks who want clear settings and a warm, achievable result.

Ingredients

Thermomix method

  1. Chop onion and garlic 4 sec / speed 5. Add oil, sauté 3 min / 120°C / speed 1.
  2. Add the orzo, passata, stock and oregano. Cook 14 min / 100°C / Reverse / speed 1, MC off, until the orzo is tender and creamy.
  3. Stir through parmesan, season and finish with basil.

Aly's tips

  • Stir at the end so the orzo doesn't stick — Reverse does most of it.
  • Add spinach in the last 3 minutes for greens.
