Chilli Crab Pasta
KK
Inspired by Kylie KwongMy Thermomix reimagining of their chilli crab
My Thermomix take on a Kylie Kwong-style chilli crab — fragrant, gingery and tossed through pasta.
This is my independent Thermomix homage to Kylie Kwong and the comforting appeal of chilli crab. It keeps the spirit of the original inspiration, but the method is written fresh for TM6 and TM7 cooks who want clear settings and a warm, achievable result.
Ingredients
- 🧄3 garlic cloves
- 🫚20 g ginger
- 🌶️1-2 red chillies
- 🫒30 g oil
- 🍅2 tbsp tomato paste
- 🍅200 g passata
- 🥄1 tbsp soy sauce
- 🥄200 g crab meat
- 🍝300 g spaghetti, cooked
- 🧅Spring onion, coriander
Thermomix method
- Chop garlic, ginger and chilli 4 sec / speed 6. Add oil, sauté 3 min / 120°C / speed 1.
- Add tomato paste, passata and soy. Cook 8 min / 100°C / speed 1.
- Add the crab and warm 2 min / 90°C / Reverse / speed 1. Toss through the cooked spaghetti with spring onion and coriander.
Aly's tips
- Add the crab gently at the end so it stays in lovely pieces.
- A squeeze of lime brightens it.
