Apple & Cinnamon Porridge made in a Thermomix

This is my independent Thermomix homage to Annabel Langbein and the comforting appeal of apple porridge. It keeps the spirit of the original inspiration, but the method is written fresh for TM6 and TM7 cooks who want clear settings and a warm, achievable result.

Ingredients

Thermomix method

  1. Place oats, milk, grated apple, cinnamon, honey and salt in the mixing bowl. Stir 8 sec / 0°C / Reverse / speed 2 so the oats are evenly wet.
  2. Cook 10 min / 90°C / Reverse / speed 1, MC on, until creamy and thick.
  3. Rest 1 min / 0°C / Reverse / speed 0 in the bowl so the porridge settles and thickens gently.
  4. Loosen 10 sec / 0°C / Reverse / speed 2, then spoon into bowls and top with yoghurt and nuts.

Aly's tips

  • Like it thicker? Add 10 g more oats. Thinner? A splash more milk.
  • Stir through sultanas or a grated pear for variety.

Questions

Can I use steel-cut oats?

Yes, but cook 25 min / 90°C / speed 1 and add a little more milk.
